President Biden will reportedly meet with Democratic leaders following his disastrous defeat in the first debate.
Dougie Kass, a fund manager at Seabreeze Capital Partners and a Democratic National Committee official, said a meeting was scheduled between the president and two top Democrats.
“What I’m hearing about Joe Biden is that Ron Klain and Barack Obama are meeting with the President today. Jill Biden is advocating that Joe should run,” Kass claimed on social media on Friday. “Kamala is furious that she’s not being considered as a replacement (Whitmer and Newsom are being considered).”
Could Biden be unseated as the Democratic nominee? How could this unusual move happen?

Kass added, “Interestingly, my neighbors in East Hampton are hosting the Bidens tomorrow, so it will be a big sign if the fundraiser gets canceled.”
The hedge fund manager’s allegations about meetings with Democratic leaders come after Thursday night’s widely panned debate between Biden and former President Trump.
Biden struggled during Thursday night’s debate, his voice croaking and his answers incoherent, and he lost his train of thought at times, sparking concern among his political and media aides.

Some strategists have suggested Democrats need to move quickly to replace him before Biden’s pick is formally announced in August.
Vice President Kamala Harris has been largely ruled out as a potential successor due to her unpopularity with voters, with California Governor Gavin Newsom and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer previously being mentioned as last-minute potential replacements.
