During the pandemic, a public-private campaign was waged to downplay the strong possibility that COVID-19, the virus that would claim millions of lives around the world, did not originate from the controversial Chinese Communist Party laboratories that have long been conducting dangerous coronavirus experiments with the help of American taxpayer dollars.
While the Chinese Communist regime played a role in covering up evidence of a potential lab leak when the virus first spread, Anthony Fauci, who was then director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, ultimately played a major role in sorting out the narrative.
Dr. Anthony Fauci and the virologists around him worked desperately to insist that the virus was of zoonotic origin, hiding their own doubts about that possibility and scorning those who argued otherwise.
After all, they had their reasons for engaging in revisionism and propaganda. Admittedly, some in the Western medical establishment did not want to alienate China by holding it responsible for the deaths of so many Americans. And Fauci had his fingerprints on the American grants that were funneled into dangerous research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology through notorious zoologist Peter Daszak’s EcoHealth Alliance, whose acquisition subcontractors were ostensibly among those who fell ill in late 2019: Patient Zero.
The laboratory leak theory
Censored On social media, particularly Facebook in direct coordination with Fauci, talk show hosts, commentators and once-respected newspapers dutifully repeated the approved talking points.
But not everyone in Washington, DC, the media or the medical community was convinced, particularly epidemiologist and Great Barrington Declaration co-author Dr. Jay Bhattacharya of Stanford University and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY).

“He’s in a tough position,” Bhattacharya said, “when people understand that what’s happened over the last three and a half years with the COVID-19 pandemic is potentially, or actually, the result of this type of research program, and that Fauci was one of the driving forces behind it.”
“Millions of people have died, economies have been devastated,” Bhattacharya continued, “and the poor, children and vulnerable around the world have suffered as a result of this mad science experiment. … You will go down in history as one of the world’s greatest monsters.”
Later in the episode, Bhattacharya discusses the nature of the infrastructure supporting the deadly research program and the connection between officials’ awareness of the possibility of a leak from the lab and the strict COVID prevention protocols they ultimately pushed through.
