Members of the Trump Advisory Committee are advocating for January 6th to be designated as a national holiday, envisioning it becoming as significant as July 4th within a decade.
Jason Meister, 43, expressed his concerns over the lack of discussion surrounding this day, emphasizing, “It’s crucial to honor these American heroes who risked their lives and freedom to protest what they believed was a stolen election.”
A former Trump representative, Meister is also promoting the idea of “Political Prisoners” performing the national anthem during the 2027 NFL Draft.
Meanwhile, lawyers from New Jersey who witnessed the events at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, are planning to bring this issue to Trump’s attention at the next opportunity.
Additionally, Meister mentioned the upcoming opening of Trump’s “American Heroes National Garden,” set for July 4th, 2026, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the U.S.
Meister is passionate about commemorating January 6th, stating, “The elites opposed the J6 with force. These individuals sacrificed everything, including their jobs and families, in a bid for freedom.” He referenced significant taxpayer expenditure related to the events.
He believes that January 6th should be recognized as “Patriot Day,” stressing that the demonstrators were unarmed and asserting, “The government responded violently against peaceful protesters, leading to wrongful imprisonments.”
The family of Ashli Babbitt, an unarmed veteran tragically shot by a federal officer during the incident, recently reached a settlement with the DOJ regarding a $30 million lawsuit.
Meister concluded, “We aim to acknowledge these heroes who gave everything to protect our democracy.”
