Two gunmen remained at large after the subway shooting that left one bystander dead and five others injured, but police on Tuesday released the first photo of the suspects.
Police said photos show a male suspect wearing a ski mask, a black jacket, a black hooded sweatshirt and white and red Air Jordan sneakers fleeing the scene.
The other man can be seen wearing a black North Face jacket, a gray hooded sweatshirt, a black ski mask covering his mouth, dark pants and black and yellow Air Jordan sneakers, police said.
According to police, both men appear to be in their 20s.
Police said the shooting occurred on the platform of the northbound No. 4 train at Mount Eden Station in the Bronx around 4:40 p.m.
Witnesses said the tragedy started with a fight between people believed to be teenagers.
According to police sources, the two suspects then pulled out firearms and fired 10 shots, one of which struck and killed a 35-year-old man, an innocent bystander.
A 14-year-old girl, a 15-year-old boy, a 29-year-old woman, and two men, ages 71 and 28, were also shot. The five surviving victims were hospitalized and are in stable condition.
After the shooting, the suspects fled the scene on foot north on Jerome Avenue toward Featherbed Lane, police said.
