A man is accused of decapitating his elderly parents and their dog at their home in San Juan Capistrano, California.
The suspect in this case has been identified as 41-year-old Joseph Brandon Gardville. Fox 11 report Thursday. He was “charged with two counts of special circumstance murder among multiple counts of murder.”

The victims were identified as 77-year-old Ronald Walter Gardville and 79-year-old Antoinette Gardville, and authorities discovered their bodies in their home along with the body of their dog.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department said in a press release Wednesday: detail Incident:
On Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 7:36 AM, officers were dispatched to a domestic violence incident near the 32000 block of Alipas Street in the City of San Juan Capistrano. Minutes later, officers arrived at the dispatched address and discovered a horrific scene including the decapitated bodies of Ronald and Antoinette Gardville, as well as the couple’s decapitated dog.
A few minutes later, police told officers a bloody man chased a nearby maintenance worker and stole the worker’s golf cart before fleeing. Shortly after receiving the call, the suspect was spotted near the bike path exit and officers made contact with him, resulting in “an officer-involved shooting,” police noted.
Authorities rescued the suspect and he was taken to a hospital where he is in stable condition. The Sheriff’s Department said enhanced charges against the suspect are likely.
It was not immediately clear whether Gardville was carrying a weapon at the time of the shooting, Fox 11 reported.

One neighbour claimed they had recently seen the man fighting with his father, while another said: “He had a drug problem, that’s why he was living there and the police were keeping him there too.”
