Carrie Underwood Celebrates Patriotism in Tennessee
Carrie Underwood, the 43-year-old country artist, recently posted a video on Instagram showcasing her pride in being American. In the video, she drives past a big fence adorned with American flags that surrounds her property.
“I can’t believe I get to live here. Thank you, Lord. #GodBlessAmerica #Grateful #TN,” she wrote in her post, expressing her gratitude. Many fans seemed to resonate with her display of patriotism. One fan mentioned that a similar display at Eric Trump’s Trump Winery in Virginia was so moving that it brought tears to their eyes.
Another commented, “I feel the same way! Thank you, Lord for bringing us here,” and a third fan added, “Beautiful and patriotic! So proud.” Some fans shared their own sentiments, saying things like, “If that flag represents gratitude for freedom, it makes what I’ve experienced feel a bit less painful.” They extended their thanks not only to Underwood but also to her family.
Back in January 2025, Underwood showcased her patriotism once again by performing “America the Beautiful” at the U.S. Capitol during President Donald Trump’s inauguration. Interestingly, she handled a bit of a hiccup during her performance when the music cut out, asking the crowd to help her out, which led to her singing a cappella.
Underwood expressed her honor in a statement regarding the inauguration. “I love this country and was honored to be asked to sing at the inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event. I am humbled to answer this call at a time when we all need to come together in a spirit of unity and look to the future.”
This announcement, however, was met with mixed reactions. While some criticized her decision, like Joy Behar from “The View,” others came to her defense. Lee Greenwood, in an interview, said, “She’s going to do a great job on Capitol Hill.” He praised the moment, suggesting it would be magical despite the negativity directed at Underwood.
Underwood first gained fame in 2005 after winning season four of “American Idol.” Since then, she has won eight Grammy Awards and sold over 22.5 million albums in the U.S. She announced her return to the show in February 2025, sharing that she would replace Katy Perry as a judge.
