Charlie Kirk’s American Comeback Tour Continues After Tragedy

Charlie Kirk’s “American Comeback Tour” is set to proceed shortly after the tragic shooting of the Turning Point USA founder on a university campus. This initiative is particularly poignant ahead of an event at Utah State University later this month.

Kate Ringliffis, the president of Turning Point USA’s chapter at Utah State, shared her thoughts: “I think that’s exactly what Charlie would have wanted. He wouldn’t want things to be on hold. He aimed to motivate our organization and the country.”

Kirk was fatally shot at Utah Valley University on September 10th, during what was supposed to be the first stop of his tour.

Later this month, Utah State University, located around 130 miles north of where Kirk was killed, will host a tour on September 30th.

Tyler Robinson, a former student at Utah State, has been charged with the murder of Kirk. However, he only attended the university for one semester in fall 2021.

“He wouldn’t want his movement to pause because of this,” Griffith mentioned to a local news outlet. “He’s just hoping it continues to grow stronger.”

Griffith noted the organization hasn’t confirmed the lineup of speakers for the event, but it was announced earlier this week that Kirk’s widow, Erika, will lead the organization moving forward.

The university stated they are collaborating with various agencies to ensure robust security measures in light of the recent events.

“Given the growing concern, the USU Public Safety Agency is actively working with local, state, and federal partners to establish proper safety protocols,” the institution said.

With Kirk’s previous event being held outdoors and attracting significant crowds, Griffith hinted that events in Utah are gaining more interest, possibly requiring a venue within the basketball arena.

“I reached out to many people for assistance and sought volunteers for the event. A lot of locals are also eager for more information,” Griffith explained.

In a final note of remembrance, Charlie Kirk’s funeral is set to occur this Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Phoenix, Arizona.
