Chicago's self-proclaimed “progressive” mayor, Brandon Johnson, is calling for a “ceasefire” of action between Israeli and Hamas terrorists, even though the city remains rife with gang violence.
Mr Johnson said on Wednesday that the City Council would recognize Israel's efforts to eradicate and destroy the terrorist organization responsible for the attacks in southern Israel that killed more than 1,000 Israeli civilians and kidnapped more than 230 Israelis. He raised his voice while debating a formal resolution condemning the incident. More than 130 people remain in captivity at the hands of Hamas and several other terrorist organizations.
In comments on January 24, Prime Minister Boris Johnson insisted that “we” needed a ceasefire. He prefaced his comments by referring to the “violence that occurred several months ago,” but declined to properly define Hamas' advance into southern Israel as a terrorist attack.
He continued, “But at this point right now, I think we're looking at 25,000 Palestinians who have been killed in this war. The killings have to stop. So, yes, there's a ceasefire. We need it,” Johnson said. Saidby chicago tribune.

Discussion of the resolution in the council chambers was repeatedly interrupted by the shouts of pro-Hamas supporters from the audience. But ultimately, aldermen decided to set aside the resolution and delay a final vote on the measure.
Reports said a letter signed by 28 of the 50 city councilors who protested having to vote on the resolution so close to Saturday's International Holocaust Remembrance Day requested the postponement. WBBM-TV.
According to Israeli sources, the IDF eliminated around 10,000 Hamas terrorists, but around 15,000 civilians also lost their lives. The Israel Defense Forces lost 556 soldiers, more than 200 of whom died in fighting inside the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, as Mayor Johnson declares that “we need a ceasefire'' in the Gaza Strip, the city continues to drown in the blood of black and Hispanic residents amid weekly gun battles between gang wars and drug traffickers.
Many on social media have highlighted Mr Johnson's “concerns” about Hamas as his city comes under fire.

That seems about right, considering how more children have been shot to death in Chicago over the past decade than have been killed in Israel's previous five skirmishes with Gaza. .
