EAGLE PASS, Texas — Border Patrol agents and the Texas National Guard ordered a medical airlift Sunday morning for a migrant child seriously injured in a razor wire fence along the border. The child was injured when a large group of migrants forced their way through after clashes with guards.
After the recent presidential election, Texas is seeing an influx of large groups as migrants become increasingly aware that their chances of crossing the Rio Grande and being released into the United States are rapidly disappearing. It looks like this. On Sunday, a group of 220 migrants forced their way through razor wire, seriously injuring one migrant child and ultimately forcing them to flee for their lives to a major city more than 240 miles from the border. .
The Texas Army National Guard tried their best to prevent the group from crossing the river and entering the United States north of the small Texas border town of Eagle Pass, but the group eventually breached the border. succeeded in entering the country. A Department of Homeland Security report reviewed by Breitbart Texas provides a timeline of what happened as a group of more than 200 migrants headed north against the Texas Army National Guard. .
Shortly after 9 a.m., soldiers tried to repel the group using pepper ball bullets, the report said. In a standoff that lasted more than an hour, the group went ashore and attempted to break razor wire installed by the state of Texas to prevent migrants from entering the country. Among the group of migrants who broke through the wire, some were described only as children. The report does not give the child's age, name or nationality.
According to the report, at approximately 10:30 a.m. Sunday, the Border Patrol received notification from the Texas Army National Guard that a child was injured while passing through the bellows/razor wire. The child's injuries were such that responding Border Patrol agents and Texas Army National Guard soldiers called a life flight to transport the child to San Antonio, Texas, where he received advanced medical care.
The child and her mother were taken to a medical facility in San Antonio for evaluation and treatment of injuries sustained during the illegal border crossing, the report said.
Breitbart Texas posted a photo near the scene of the crossing, where a large group of migrants crossed on Sunday. Ground and drone photos taken show large groups being apprehended by Border Patrol agents and buses preparing to transport multiple large groups of migrants across the Rio Grande north of small border cities. is shown to be placed. (Note: The photo above of the child being handed the wire was taken at an earlier intersection)
Breitbart Texas spoke with Chris Olivares, a spokesperson for the Texas Department of Public Safety, who said the lack of concern among immigrant parents about the safety and well-being of their children is surprising.
“We have prosecuted multiple child endangerment cases involving parents who pushed their children into the dangerous Rio Grande and attempted to climb over state-installed barriers,” Olivarez said. “Despite our best efforts, some parents are willing to put their children’s lives at great risk to cross the border.”
