Christian Ministry Urges Churches to Support Developing Communities on World Water Day

Surveys Indicate That Many Jews Feel Unsafe as Antisemitism Grows

In many developed nations, we often overlook the convenience of clean water flowing from our taps. It’s something we commonly take for granted. Nonetheless, there’s a stark reality for around 2.1 billion people globally—nearly a quarter of the world’s population—who lack access to safe drinking water.

When disaster strikes in the United States and people lose access to clean water, it’s classified as a state of emergency. The government has even issued a report outlining steps to take in the absence of safe drinking water.

Church Campaigns for World Water Day

Christian Mission GFA World is reaching out to congregations, encouraging them to participate in a campaign starting March 22 to honor World Water Day. Their focus is primarily on Asia and Africa, working towards providing new wells.

Over this month-long initiative, they aim to introduce 125 new “Jesus Wells,” as clean drinking water is critically needed in several developing regions.

According to GFA World, each well features an inscription of a verse from John 4:13-14, highlighting the spiritual significance of the water they provide. The verse speaks about drinking water that leads to eternal life.

Enhancing Life Quality through Wells

The cost of each well is around $1,600, and they can be drilled up to 650 feet deep, much deeper than average. This capability allows for water access even during droughts. Local churches oversee these wells, with pastors praying for those reliant on them. The presence of these wells significantly enhances the quality of life, as families spend less time seeking water and help reduce disease prevalence within communities.

GFA World also offers options for sponsoring missionaries, children, and joining prayer teams. There’s more information available on the ministry’s website regarding these initiatives.
