Teacher at Alabama Christian School Faces Charges

A teacher at Alabama Christian School has reportedly been involved in inappropriate relationships with female students. The Academy expressed deep concern regarding the situation, emphasizing the emotional impact it has had on everyone involved.

Reports indicate that Sarah Huggins Logan, 35, a teacher at North River Christian Academy, was taken into custody by the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office on Friday.

Authorities were alerted by the parents of one of the alleged victims who, upon discovering the situation, contacted police on Wednesday about their daughter’s involvement with the teacher, according to Captain Jack Kennedy.

The sheriff’s violent crimes unit initiated an investigation and subsequently arrested Logan after gathering statements and evidence.

Logan, who is currently not working at the school, now faces charges related to engaging in sexual activities as a school employee.

The exact ages of the students have not been disclosed, nor has there been confirmation of any illegal relationship.

North River Christian Academy issued a statement on Friday stating that they were made aware of the charges earlier in the week and promptly notified authorities in an effort to cooperate fully.

“The well-being of our students, staff, and families is our top priority. We ask for privacy for all parties involved. Speculation and rumors do not benefit anyone and only exacerbate the challenges faced by those impacted,” the school stated.

They acknowledged that the situation is painful for all, especially the families most affected.

“We are keeping them in our thoughts and encouraging the entire school community to include them in their prayers. It’s a challenging time for everyone.”

Established in 1981, North River Christian Academy began as a daycare service provided by Open Baptist Church for working mothers’ children, eventually expanding to include facilities through 12th grade.

The school prides itself on its mission to empower students to honor God in all their endeavors.

As the investigation continues, Captain Kennedy mentioned that law enforcement is encouraging any additional potential victims to come forward.
