Thousands of prayers are pouring in to thank God as a seven-week-old baby continues to show signs of improvement after receiving a heart transplant.
according to CBN NewsMarc E. Joubert posted an update last week about his son Augustus Elliott Joubert (better known as Gus on social media) and chronicled his baby's journey to surgery.
“My son is currently undergoing surgery. He went in around 1pm. The old heart is taken out and the new heart is put in. We were on the transplant list for only 11 days. Thank you to the family who chose to donate. It's been a long day and we probably won't see him until 8 p.m.,” said Joubert. I have written In X on January 16th.

“The Lord is our refuge.”
But despite a successful heart transplant, Gus' heart stopped beating and Joubert posted an update asking for prayers.
“I have some bad news. The transplant was successful, but my son's donor heart has not started beating yet. equipment) otherwise he will die. Pray for us all. May the Lord be glorified.'' Joubert I have written.

Two days later, he wrote that his son's heart started beating again and thanked people for their continued prayers.
“Weak and imperfect, but the beat!” It persisted and grew all day today. Please continue to pray for Gus! ” he I have written January 18th.
In the latest update, Joulbert noted that Gass experienced complications after being fired from EMCO because his heart was “regaining momentum.” However, the baby's blood pressure “continued to drop rapidly” and she was returned to EMCO.
“For some unknown reason, he stabilized last night. We were relieved for a few hours, but by 3am this morning his condition had worsened again.” tweeted Wednesday morning. “This time we brought him to the brink of death and we were forced to return him to ECMO. Thankfully, our team acted quickly and he was safely returned to ECMO. Currently, his condition is mostly stable, but they are working on rebalancing his fluids. The cause of this stubborn blood pressure problem remains unknown.”
He also noted that there was an urgent need to respond to a blood clot that formed during the ECMO clamp test.
“Although the gas did not completely enter his body, it is possible that a 'micro-clot' was pumped into his body. X-rays showed that his right lung took the brunt. Our team believes that the damage sustained to his right lung caused an inflammatory response that affected how his vascular system retained fluid and, in turn, how his body maintained pressure. His only option this morning was to restart ECMO in hopes that the next few days would give him the stability he needed for his lungs to heal. In the meantime, they will administer a treatment to remove inflammatory markers from his blood. ”
Joubert also noted that Gus' other organs, including his liver, kidneys and brain, were “not seriously damaged”.
“So, here is our position: We will continue ECMO for several more days to allow the lungs to recover and reduce inflammation, while maintaining appropriate pressures, neurologically monitoring, and protecting other organs.” I will take it,” he added. “Please join us in praying that God will give wisdom to the doctors. Please pray that Gas’s lungs will recover. There were no complications with this ECMO treatment and he will be finally released and ready to fly.” It will give you the time you need.”
