CNN political data reporter Harry Enten said Monday that President Donald Trump is doing “a lot better” than former President Biden when it comes to war in Ukraine.

On Friday, Ukrainian President Voldymee Zelenki's meeting with Trump and Vice President JD Vance at the White House exploded with screams seen around the world. The meeting fell off the rails after Zelensky began arguing with Trump and Vance. While many Democrat leaders were horrifying, many Republicans and voters generally approve Trump's approach to this foreign conflict.

On Monday, Enten spoke about how he shows Americans will vote for the dramatic changes in the past few years in terms of how he feels about the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

“The easiest way we can ask this is, “Do you think Americans like the way Trump handles his work and like to compare that to how he felt about Joe Biden?” This is the net approval rating,” he said on the CBS News/YouGov voting chart that he dealt with the Russian-Crane dispute during his tenure.

CNN voting experts expressed surprise with a wide margin that Americans approve Trump's approach to Ukraine and his predecessor's approach.

CNN data Guru Torches Biden's “Flat Out Bonker” claims he won reelection

“Look at Joe Biden in 2024. He was 22 points underwater, in the Holy Cow!” he said before gestured how Trump has a positive net rating. “You're looking at Donald Trump. It's a completely different planet. That means the bay between these two is wider than the Gulf of America, or Mexico, depending on which side of the passage you stand on. He's in plus two.”

“So at this particular point, Americans are giving Donald Trump the bounty of doubt,” he said. “He's doing much better than Joe Biden was doing about handling the Russian-Ukraine conflict.

CNN host Kate Bordan asked to show how Americans feel about ending the war.

He said the “naked majority” (naked majority” of American Gallup, who wanted to quickly end the war that Russia is allowed to maintain captured land, compared to the 48% that Ukraine continues to fight.

This seems like a neck and neck outcome at the moment, but Enten explained, “The trendline for this question is very important.”

“Now we're at 50%. That means that Russia is maintaining the lands of captured Ukrainians, but when it comes to Americans who want to quickly end the war, it's a rocket ship.

“American views on Russia are also changing,” observed Bordan.

“Absolutely. One reason why we're seeing this is Americans who say 'Russia is the enemy', and back in 2023 it was 64%, and 34% in the CBS News YouGov poll. ”

Enten said there is still a mass of American masses who believe Russia is an unfriendly country, “though there is still a mass of American masses who believe it is an ally or friendly, and that is basically the same as the proportion of people who say it is basically an enemy.”

He then argued that this changing attitude towards Russia was ultimately a reason why Americans are willing to support compromises to end the war.

“The view on Russia has become a bit less isolated in that they consider them the enemy and want Russia to be there on its own,” said an expert on CNN's poll. “At this particular point, they're starting to look at Russia a little more friendly. I think that's part of why Americans want to see compromises at this particular time.”
