Code Pink Links California Wildfires to Gaza Conflict in ‘Unhinged’ Protest

Code pink far-left activists He was later accused of exploiting the tragedy. It linked California's devastating wildfires to the conflict in Gaza, arguing that both are fueled by policies targeting indigenous lands and widespread environmental neglect.

Code Pink organizer Olivia DiNucci led a protest outside Sen. Alex Padilla's California office on Wednesday, using the state's raging wildfires to promote the group's radical policies. I used it as a place to do things.

DiNucci accused Israel of supporting “continuing to bomb and wipe out people in the Gaza Strip” and said the California fire crisis was part of a global pattern of destruction, with Hamas controlling environmental destruction. He claimed that it was linked to the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

“We draw parallels between people in communities in California being evacuated from their homes and people in Gaza being evacuated from their homes for the past 15 months,” DiNucci said.

“Every bomb that goes off is being tested and manufactured in sacrificial zones on indigenous lands in this country,” she asserted, arguing that U.S. priorities include both ecological damage and human suffering. He claimed to be producing it. “We need that money for climate compensation, health care and housing, not to make climate change worse and further devastate and massacre the people of Gaza.”

Code Pink, which describes itself as an “anti-militarist, internationalist, feminist environmental movement,” calls for federal funds to be directed toward climate compensation, housing, and health care, rather than programs it says exacerbate crises at home and abroad. There is.

“We are here today to say that the climate crisis is linked to unending militarism, that genocide is environmental destruction, and that we need to put that money into the hands of our constituents and communities at home.” The radical peace activist continued.

The group's claims quickly sparked widespread outrage, with many accusing Code Pink of using the California fires for political theater.

“Fires are raging in Los Angeles, leaving thousands of people homeless. Naturally, Code Pink went around the halls of Congress and said, 'How can we make this all about Gaza? ” said commentator Joel M. Petrin.

Other critics labeled the group's actions “disaster appropriation,” arguing that they exploited the suffering of Californians to advance far-left environmental political agendas. “Please tell me more about how you use other people's pain to advance anti-American ideology,” one user said.

“They hate America,” says one X user claimed that.

“Communists are funded by the Chinese Communist Party” [Chinese Communist Party] A moral equivalence is drawn between the Gaza and California fires. How disgusting are they? ” I wrote Another.

Wildfires in California are primarily caused by drought, high temperatures, and poor land management. Years of mismanagement and natural challenges have combined to leave the state vulnerable to catastrophic fires that destroy homes, livelihoods, and ecosystems.

Founded as an anti-war group, Code Pink has increasingly focused on linking global conflicts to environmental activism, often targeting U.S. domestic policy in the process. The group's recent actions highlight its tendency to use high-profile tragedies such as the California fires for political messaging.

The group accuses the United States, not Hamas, of disrupting peace.
