Cops raise US flag, toss Palestinian banner after ending City College pro-terror protest

The American flag was once again raised at the City University of New York after anti-Israel protesters removed it and replaced it with the Palestinian flag on the Harlem Heights campus.

Video from Wednesday morning showed NYPD officers standing at the base of the flagpole working to remove the quad-colored flag, where they ripped it from the rope and threw it to the ground. .

An impromptu ceremony followed with a speech from Daughtry, and the American flag was once again raised.

“Great scenes and proud moments we supported.” @CityCollegeNY culminating in the restoration of order on campus and the re-hoisting of Old Glory from the campus flagpole,” said NYPD Deputy Commissioner Kaz Daughtry. I wrote it to X.

The Palestinian flag has been flying at CCNY since protesters raised it last week when they set up encampment on a public institution.

The pro-Palestinian protesters, many of whom were part of a group that had crossed Manhattan and held protests at various universities in the city, threw smoke bombs at police and barricaded themselves in administrative buildings.

Currently, City College is holding all classes remotely until further notice.
