Authorities report that a couple from Connecticut engaged in sexual activity in front of their children during a JetBlue flight from New York City’s JFK to Florida.
According to the statement, at around 10:30 AM on July 19, a woman traveling with her two children informed a JetBlue flight attendant about two passengers doing something inappropriate. She especially pointed out that the kids had seen the alleged act.
“This behavior is completely unacceptable and is not tolerated by JetBlue,” a spokesperson commented.
The affidavit detailed that the flight attendant observed one passenger with her head positioned towards the other passenger’s lap.
It claimed the children witnessed activities that were incredibly inappropriate.
About an hour later, after the plane landed at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, officials arrested 42-year-old Christopher D. Arnold and 43-year-old Trista L. Riley. They each face two felony charges: one for lewd exhibition and the other related. The suspects were released from custody on July 21, as per jail records.
JetBlue reiterated that such behavior is not acceptable. “Once we received the report, the crew acted quickly, collaborating with our security team and law enforcement,” the airline stated. “We’re fully cooperating with the investigation, and these individuals will not be permitted to fly with us in the future.”
As for the upcoming legal proceedings, records indicate Arnold and Riley are scheduled for an arrest hearing on August 15, though it’s unclear whether they have legal representation.
