New Mexico's joint federal investigation and deportation attacks have taken dozens of criminally illegal aliens on the streets in recent weeks. Four illegal aliens have been arrested as part of an investigation into a weapons crime.
Several other ice country expelling actions throughout the state have resulted in arrest of 48 more illegal aliens. Almost half have been convicted of serious criminal offences, according to Ice.
In late February, special agents of ICE Homeland Security Investigation (HSI) executed a search warrant at their Albuquerque residence. During the search, the agent found a loaded pistol with an expanded magazine containing 19 rounds of ammunition. During their investigation, witnesses tied the weapon to Mycol Ramos.
Ramos, a Venezuelan citizen who is illegally present in the United States, is being charged with possession of weapons and ammunition. As part of the search, the agent discovered another loaded handgun and ammunition under the bed. Antoni Herrera, another Venezuelan in the United States, is facing accusations of being an illegal foreigner who has a firearm and possesses a firearm or ammunition.
In another separate investigation in late February, the HSI began an investigation into Cristhian Ortega-Lopez based on anonymous hints. Ortega Lopez, an illegal foreigner from Venezuela, is suspected by authorities to partner with the infamous Tren de Aragua gang. Investigators determined Ortega Lopez illegally entered the United States in 2023 and was released to the United States by the Biden administration in order to pursue asylum.
Social media evidence showed Ortega Lopez in possession of multiple firearms at Lasluci's shooting range. Ortega Lopez is currently facing removal and prosecution for illegal possession of weapons and ammunition by foreigners.
In the fourth case involving aliens carrying firearms and ammunition, the HSI found 11 firearms during a search warrant that included an investigation into Raul Esparza Gonzalez in Espanola, New Mexico. Esparza-Gonzalez is an illegal foreigner who was previously deported from Mexico. Firearms during the search included handguns, shotguns and rifles. Esparza-Gonzalez faces removal and fees related to weapon ownership.
In other enforcement measures taking place across New Mexico in the week ending March 8th, ICE agents and other federal authorities arrested 48 illegal aliens. Almost half of those arrested have been previously arrested or convicted of serious criminal offences, including murder, criminal intrusion, sexual assault, household members' batteries, worsening batteries, drug trafficking, burglary monitoring entrances, theft and driving under the influence, according to ICE.
The operation included executive operations carried out in Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Roswell, New Mexico. ICE is joined by CBP, FBI, ATF and former US s-services for a week-long deportation effort.
Commenting on the success of our operations in New Mexico, Mary Dayborough, Office Director of Ice Enforcement and Removal Operations El Paso Field, said, “Ice is grateful that our arrests are exemplifying the type of criminals living among us and removing our arrests from the city to protect our agency's main mission.
