Washington DC members and councils are seeking a complete ban on mobile phones at public schools in the district to restrict their caution in the classroom.
A bill that banned devices will be introduced on Monday at the DC Council, and will be enforced in the next grade. Six councilors have already signed this bill. This prohibits all mobile phones, tablets, smartwatches, and game devices in all DC public schools and charter schools.
To pass, you need more support from two councilors.
According to the data, one -third of the students in the district can be read at the grade level, but less than one -quarter is proficient in mathematics. The standardized test score has had a slight bump since last year, but the score is still far behind the Pandemic level.

“The family is allowed to do what they want to do at night, weekends, and their own time, but working with our family, parents and our school is the government's responsibility. I will raise children, “said DC councilor Brook, who wrote the bill, told Fox 5 DC.
“Most of it is to learn, concentrate at school, and confirm that they are involved in each other when they are in the school building. You are glued to your mobile phone. I can't do that, “she continued.

This proposal also aims to force students to increase more socialization between classes, instead of scrolling on a mobile phone. He told Axios, “as an important part of a young age of human development.”
