Spike in Threats Against ICE Agents
It appears that if Democratic leaders aimed to stir political violence in America, they might be hitting their mark.
The Department of Homeland Security reported a significant increase in death threats targeting ICE agents—an alarming 8,000% rise. In the fiscal year 2025, some individuals are even putting bounties on these agents’ heads.
Tricia McLaughlin, a spokeswoman for the Department of Homeland Security, highlighted the unprecedented levels of violence faced by their employees. This includes threats to kill agents, violence against their families, as well as online stalking and the sharing of personal information.
For instance, an anonymous individual warned the spouse of a Texas ICE officer over the phone, ominously stating, “Did you hear what happened to the Nazis after World War II? That’s what will happen to your family.”
And it’s not just the less affluent. High-profile Democrats, including governors like J.B. Pritzker from Illinois, Gavin Newsom from California, and Tim Walz from Minnesota, alongside mayors such as Michelle Wu from Boston and Brandon Johnson from Chicago, have also been labeled with harsh terms like “fascists,” “Nazis,” and “Gestapo members.”
One might think. Democrats may toss around labels and incite sentiment for the sake of their base, but they seem to indirectly encourage violent actions from certain individuals as a means to “save” America.
In recent events, a sniper fired into an ICE facility in Texas, killing two individuals. Additionally, ten people were arrested for physically assaulting law enforcement during an anti-ICE protest in Los Angeles. Separately, a gunman in Texas injured two police officers and a Border Patrol agent.
This violence isn’t exclusive to immigration officers either. Tyler Robinson, aged 22, was accused of murdering Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk simply for his conservative views.
So, how many more lives will be impacted before this disturbing rhetoric is addressed?
It’s crucial for responsible officials to condemn these acts, even if some may feel tempted to fuel the fire.
If Democrats oppose the arrest of criminal illegal immigrants, it’s imperative they focus on winning elections and changing laws rather than stoking violence.
This is what “democracy” should look like.
Interestingly, a significant majority, about 69%, of Americans support deportations, including 58% within the Democratic Party. Thus, it seems that some elected officials in the Democratic Party might be trying to go against the will of the people by resorting to violence.
They had valid reasons to express concerns about democracy being under threat; unfortunately, they might not fully grasp who poses that actual threat.
