Sen. Bob Casey (D-Pennsylvania) said Sunday that his internal polls are closer than some public polls, saying there is a “two-point difference” between him and Republican Senate candidate Dave McCormick. He suggested to MSNBC's “The Weeknd'' that there was a conflict.
When host Alicia Menendez pointed out that recent polls showed the incumbent handily defeating his Republican challenger, Casey humorously responded, saying the results reflected the campaign's internal polling. He assured me that he had not.
“I wish you had,” Casey said. “The polls will bounce back, but it's very close right now. It's probably going to be a two-point battle in my race.”
The senator suggested the race would be just as close, although many polls have Casey leading McCormick and former President Donald Trump defeating Vice President Kamala Harris.
