Democrats Unite Against Trump

Despite some internal disagreements, Democrats have come together on one key issue: opposing President Donald Trump and his administration’s policies. Recently, Democratic senators released a poignant message titled “Don’t abandon ship.”

The group of six featured senators, representing areas like the intelligence community and the military branches, aimed to convey a significant message directly aimed at “members of the military and intelligence community.”

“Illegal orders can be rejected.”

They emphasized that while Americans trust the military, that trust is being eroded. “This administration is putting military personnel and intelligence professionals in opposition to the American people,” they stated.

They reminded their audience, “Like us, you took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution. Today, threats to that Constitution originate not just from foreign entities, but also from within.”

The senators restated their message for emphasis: “Unlawful orders can be refused.” They urged that no one should have to carry out orders that contravene the law or constitutional obligations. “Whether you’re in the CIA, the Army, or the Navy, remaining vigilant is paramount. And we’re here to support you,” they claimed.

Interestingly, the video did not specify any particular orders deemed illegal from Trump or his team.

It closed with a powerful plea: “Don’t let go of the ship.”

The message was delivered by Senators Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) and Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.), along with Representatives Chris Deluzio (D-Pa.), Maggie Goodlander (D.N.H.), Chrissy Hoolahan (D-Pa.), and Jason Crow (D-Colorado).

In response, White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller criticized the senators’ approach, stating that “Ten years after the Deep State Russia hoax, leading Democrats are openly calling on CIA and military officials to revolt against their commander in chief.” He insisted that one should not underestimate how radicalized the Democratic Party has become.

By Wednesday, Slotkin’s video had garnered 6.7 million views on X.
