Dems watching their victories ‘vanish’ before them, Montana Senate candidate says ahead of RNC speech

MILWAUKEE — Montana Senate candidate Tim Sheehy said Democrats are prepared to continue to see their victories “evaporate” by Election Day.

“What have you been doing for the last three years with this story about, ‘Donald Trump is going to take over the government and prosecute his opponents?’ ‘Donald Trump advocates violence against political opponents.’ You know what have you been doing? So I think this is almost a comedic projection. They’re literally saying that Donald Trump is going to do everything that he’s actually done for the last three and a half years,” Sheehy told Fox News Digital on Tuesday from the Republican National Committee, when asked about Democrats’ anti-Trump rhetoric before and after the assassination attempt on the 45th president.

“of course, [we] “Don’t be surprised to see them change their tune as they watch their victory evaporate before their eyes over the next 90 days. They will literally say anything, including outright lies, to hang on to any chance of victory,” he continued.

President Biden and his allies have repeatedly denounced Trump as a “dictator” and, just days before a 20-year-old man tried to shoot and kill Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania, Biden said it was “time to put Trump at the center of the target.” He later walked back the remarks.

Trump-endorsed Navy SEAL Tim Sheehy wins Republican nomination for Montana Senate, defeating Jon Tester

Sheehy, a Navy SEAL veteran running to replace longtime Democratic Sen. Jon Tester, will speak at the Republican National Convention on Tuesday and told Fox News Digital he will focus his speech on delivering a “unanimous victory” for the GOP in November.

“This event is about President Trump and soon-to-be Vice President Vance, so my message is basically, we have to unite behind them. But we also can’t lose sight of the lower-level races that will determine control of the Senate and the House, because if President Trump wins — and he does win — without a unified government, it’s going to be very hard to get anything done, from judges to cabinet members and of course any kind of legislation. So I want to remind everyone of the fact that we have to win, not just the top candidate, but all of the candidates, and bring common sense back to this country,” he continued.

The Republican National Convention kicked off on Monday with former President Donald Trump nominating Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio as his running mate for vice president in 2024. Sheehy praised the choice and stressed the need for the Republican Party to elect a younger generation of politicians.

“I’m really excited about the election of Senator Vance. Obviously, one of my signature slogans is a new generation of leaders. We’ve got to start bringing some young blood into the senior ranks of our party, because if we’re going to carry the conservative movement for the next 20, 30 years, we’re going to need a long list of strong candidates. And clearly, JD is right in that category,” Sheehy said.

“We look forward to giving him our full support.”

“Jon Tester is a career politician and he’s very effective. He’s a force to be reckoned with. He’s undefeated in 30 years in office, which is what he’s good at. He’s good at saying whatever will get him elected. But it’s going to be very hard for him to beat the Democrats’ record in 2024,” he said.

“So this is a disaster. He’s voted for all of the legislation that has enabled high inflation, runaway interest rates, stagnant wages, and of course international disasters from Ukraine to Afghanistan. He’s with Joe Biden. [Vice President Kamala Harris] That’s what he’s done. And now all of a sudden he’s coming back to Montana and saying he’s going to close the border and run against Joe Biden. So the people of Montana will continue to believe that. It’s going to be a tough fight, no doubt, but it’s time to get him out of office and Montana is ready to do that.”

President Trump endorsed Sheehy earlier this year while criticizing Tester.

“Tim is the candidate best positioned right now to defeat lazy Republican Jon Tester and take back the Republican majority in the United States Senate,” Trump said in February.
