Denzel Washington Seems to Confront Photographer in Tense Interaction, Video Reveals

Denzel Washington’s Cannes Encounter with Photographer

Denzel Washington had a tense moment with a photographer at the Cannes Film Festival on Monday when the man allegedly grabbed the actor’s arm, as reported by E! News.

Washington was present for the premiere of Spike Lee’s film “Highest 2 Lowest.” However, things escalated during his interaction with the paparazzo. In a video of the incident, Washington’s frustration was evident, and he was seen wagging his finger at the photographer.

Despite Washington’s apparent attempts to diffuse the situation, the paparazzo reportedly escalated things further by grabbing his arm. Washington reacted by batting the man’s hand away, but the photographer persisted, according to the footage.

Although the audio wasn’t clear, it appeared that Washington repeatedly told the photographer to “stop it.” His expression was serious, with furrowed brows as he engaged with the man.

The photographer, holding onto his camera, seemed determined to get Washington’s attention, while an older individual nearby also appeared to intervene, but Washington was unfazed.

Following the exchange, Washington returned to the red carpet, as per E! News.

This isn’t the first time the actor has been seen frustrated in public. Back in October 2024, he had a heated moment with fans outside the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, which was caught on camera.

While his entrance at the Cannes Film Festival had its rocky moments, the atmosphere changed as formalities commenced, ultimately culminating in Washington receiving the prestigious Palme d’Or for his performance in “Highest 2 Lowest.”
