Tragic Incident in Minnesota Involves Former Preacher

Vance Berter, a Christian preacher and father of five, previously worked as a business advisor for two Democratic governors and now faces serious murder charges—one of the most shocking in Minnesota’s history.

In a tragic turn of events, both a Minnesota lawmaker and his spouse were murdered, while another lawmaker and his wife suffered severe injuries.

Blaze News investigative journalist Joe Hanneman is digging into this complex story, admitting that initial information seems puzzling. “We’re just beginning to unravel some core details,” he states during an interview on “Blaze News: The Mandate,” hosted by Steve Baker along with Jill Savage.

Berter, who has denied all accusations against him, stands firm on his innocence. Hanneman took it upon himself to explore Berter’s past, spending about six weeks investigating his background. “This story doesn’t sit right with me; he wasn’t a habitual criminal—more like the opposite,” he reflects.

He adds, “Leading up to events in June, his life appeared promising. It makes you wonder what could have triggered such a drastic change.” To find answers, Hanneman decided to reach out to Berter through the messaging system at the Sherburn County Jail.

“We probably exchanged hundreds of texts over the weekend. He started revealing more about why he was at those homes that night,” Hanneman recounts.

Berter claimed he was conducting a civil arrest in connection with vaccinations and investigating sudden health issues related to them. “He mentioned working in the funeral industry due to these concerns about ‘sudden and unexpected’ deaths, something that has spiked since the onset of Covid-19,” Hanneman explains.

“I’m trying to peel back the layers of his story slowly but surely, in our text exchanges,” he concludes.
