Disgusted judge puts away woman who ate cat in stomach-turning video: ‘You’ve embarrassed this nation’

A sick Ohio woman who killed and ate a cat was sentenced Monday to a year in prison after an irate judge accused her of performing a disgusting act that turned her stomach.

“To me, you pose a substantial danger to our community,” Stark County Court Judge Frank Forchione told Judge Alexis Ferrell, 27. The Massillon Independent reported.

“This is disgusting to me. I mean, anyone would do something like this to an animal. And animals are like children. I don't know if they understand that.” the judge said. “Words cannot express the disappointment, shock and disgust this crime has caused me.

He later sentenced Ferrell, who pleaded guilty to felony animal cruelty.

The case made national headlines in September, a month after Ferrell's arrest, when news of the case broke, following President-elect Donald Trump's claims that Haitian immigrants in Springfield were eating local pets. It was in the midst of a frenzy over the counter-argument.

Officials said Ferrell is not an immigrant and her case is not related to the allegations.

In court Monday, the judge called Ferrell a national disgrace.

“You have brought shame on this county,” the judge said. “You have shamed this country. More importantly, you have shamed yourself.”

Stark County Prosecutor Chelsea Small told the Post on Monday that the one-year prison sentence for the cat-eating incident is in line with the 18-year sentence Ferrell received for two previous charges, a theft case and a child endangerment case in 2019.
