Disorderly individual arrested by Secret Service at Trump's Florida golf club a week following Correspondents' shooting

Incident at Trump’s Florida Golf Course

A disruptive individual was apprehended by the Secret Service on Saturday afternoon at President Trump’s golf resort in Florida. This took place exactly one week after a shooting incident at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

The suspect, who has not been identified, was arrested at the Trump Doral National Golf Club security checkpoint around 4:15 p.m. for causing a disturbance, ignoring orders, and making physical contact with a Secret Service officer, as reported by the Secret Service and local police.

It’s worth noting that President Trump was not present during the incident.

Video footage shared on social media by conservative commentator Nick Souter displayed a person limping in the immigration area after being handcuffed for allegedly “activating a magnetometer.”

The security checkpoint had federal agents and law enforcement officers present.

“This situation did not have any impact on the established security posture for future visits by Secret Service protected persons to Trump Doral National Golf Club,” stated Michael Townsend, the acting special agent in charge of the Secret Service in Miami.

The individual involved has been charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest without violence.

Currently, he is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami.

This incident occurred in the wake of a serious security breach where Cole Allen, a suspected gunman, attempted to assassinate President Trump and members of his Cabinet during the previous week’s event at the Washington Hilton, armed with a shotgun and other weapons.

A California teacher related to this case has been charged with attempted assassination of the president, transportation of a weapon across state lines with intent to commit a felony, and discharging a firearm during a violent crime.

If found guilty, the 31-year-old could potentially face life imprisonment.
