Drugs Worth $2 Million Twice Misdelivered To Maine Residence

Police said Wednesday that two packages of illegal pills weighing about 30 pounds and potentially worth $2 million were delivered to the wrong address in central Maine on the street.

A Winslow resident complained to the Winslow Police Department (WPD) that on May 3, 2024, he received a package from an address in California that he did not order or expect, according to WPD Deputy Chief Randy Wing. revealed. statement. When the package was opened, it was found to contain multiple pills of suspected fentanyl, the statement said.

A second package containing additional fentanyl pills arrived at the same address on May 4, 2024, according to the statement. Both packages reportedly weighed a combined 29.5 pounds.

“One gram of fentanyl has a street value of $150 to $200, and pills can sell for $60 each. The potential street value could be up to $2 million,” Wing said. Stated.

“Why aren’t my bags scanned for this and other potentially dangerous substances?!” wondered another.

Some people wondered if the package had actually been misdelivered because the delivery address was now the same.

Wing said in a statement that an investigation into the incident had begun, but that WPD had no further information to release at the time.
