Shrinkflation is officially out of control.
Americans seem to have become accustomed to paying more to get their favorite foods and drinks at a lower price, with higher prices becoming the new normal.
But one Fanuns fan couldn’t help but panic after finding a single onion-flavoured round chip in a bag of their favourite tasty snack.
Tatiana, AKA @tatianaaaatt on TikToktook to the popular social media site to swiftly slam junk food giant Frito-Lay, garnering 1.2 million views and many sympathetic comments.
“So, Frito-Lay guy, you should be fired,” the cynic says in a viral video posted last week. “I bought this at Walmart yesterday.”
In the video, posted last week, the snack lover revealed that she bought a 42-pack of Frito-Lay snack chips at Walmart.
However, when she opened one of the bags, she was disappointed to find it was almost empty.
“Who’s trying to tell a joke?” Tatiana asks. “That’s ridiculous.”
Before opening the onion ring flavored bag, she shook it to demonstrate how light it was.
“That’s it,” she sighed.
The caption of this popular video reads:@Frito-Laysend me a tip, lol. Because who the hell works there doing that?”
Nearly 6,000 people commented, calling on the snack giant to launch an investigation.
“There’s not even bread crumbs left,” laughed one spectator. “And chips are expensive these days!”
“Better an empty chip than one chip,” added another.
“This makes me so mad. Those are my favorite chips in the variety pack. Someone has to pay for this,” one man commented.
“We need an investigation now,” demanded one TikTok user.
“I want a free bag too because I kept quiet when it happened to me,” another person interjected.

News about the lonely chip made its way to Frito-Lay headquarters, where the company revealed plans to repair its relationship with Tatiana.
“We have been in contact with Tatiana and are working to get this right,” a Frito-Lay representative said. He told TODAY.com. “No one should be satisfied with just one Funyun. Our team will thoroughly investigate why this happened and ensure consumers get the quality and value they expect with every bag, every time.”
Tatiana is not the only one who claims to have been duped by snack brands.
Earlier this year, a man Clips from Reddit He revealed that there were chips and bread crumbs inside the bag of Doritos.
“Okay, guys, one ounce of chips,” he said. “And bags of chips don’t get any smaller.”
