World Cup Quarterfinals Hit Miami
This past Saturday marked the final World Cup event in Miami, featuring a thrilling quarterfinal matchup between England and Norway at Hard Rock Stadium.
Among the star players were Harry Kane and Erling Haaland, while the stands filled with sports legends and celebrities.
David Beckham, a former captain of the England team, was in attendance, turning Hard Rock Stadium into a sort of second home during the tournament. Accompanied by his wife, Victoria Beckham, and their kids—Romeo, Cruz, and Harper—Beckham’s eldest son, Brooklyn, was notably missing.
Musical icons Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood were there, showcasing their longstanding support for English football.
Other notable Miami sports figures included Heat forward Nikola Jovic, who mingled with tennis stars like Venus Williams and her husband Andrea Preti. Coco Gauff, the 2025 French Open champion who recently bowed out in the Wimbledon semi-finals, was also seen enjoying the event.
Inter Miami’s striker, Luis Suarez, alongside former midfielder Blaise Matuidi and coach Javier Mascherano, made an appearance, as did Puerto Rican sensation Rau Alejandro.
Football legends filled the luxury suites, with names like Ronaldo Nazario, Arsene Wenger, Kaka, and many others watching closely as the match unfolded.
In the stands, Alfie Haaland, Erling’s father, nervously observed, while Fox analysts Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Thierry Henry, and Alexi Lalas enjoyed front-row seats.
The atmosphere was further heightened by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who was joined by Norway’s Crown Prince Haakon and other football officials stressing the significance of the high-stakes game.
Adding to the vibrant scene was DJ Steve Aoki, who livened things up, with Love Island host Maya Jama and Olympic heptathlete Anna Hall spotted on the pitch as well. New York Knicks guard Josh Hart, celebrating a recent victory, sat behind the England bench.
The match was a fitting conclusion to Miami’s hosting of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Throughout the summer, many celebrities, including Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, and Jay-Z, have been seen supporting the sport across North America.
