Longtime immigration enforcement officer Ron Bitiello reflected in the important failures that took place under former President Joe Biden’s administration in an exclusive interview with Blaze News senior political editor Christopher Bedford on Thursday.
Vitiero has spent decades dedicated to protecting American borders, and most recently served as acting director of the US immigration and customs enforcement agency during President Donald Trump’s first term, and is currently working as a senior adviser to customs and border protection in his second term. Witnessing the contrast between immigration policies across various administrations, Vitiero tells Bedford that Trump has made it a day and night that he is in office after Biden.
“It’s clear that during the Biden administration, uncontrolled borders were their goal, right?” Vitiero told Bedford. “We had an invasion unlike what we saw before.”
“Alejandro Maylerkas, as a secretary, saw what happened under the Trump administration, took over as secretary and destroyed everything he had worked for the past four years. So they knew exactly what they were doing.”
“We’ve just used government figures and we’re all a bit skeptical of those figures, but if we’re making Biden’s own published figures, we’re using 11 million encounters by CBP on the immediate border over four years of the Biden administration,” added Biciero. “It doesn’t count the number of people who abuse the parole system and jump into the US. This was not seen by law enforcement representatives on the line where people are responsible for reviewing them and making sure they are not a threat to public safety.”
Another weakness of the Biden administration was the influx of immigrants, Gotaway. This is an illegal alien who is not arrested or deported after entering the country. Vitiero said the increase in “gotaway” of these immigrants was in the Biden era exploitation One CBP app supported illegal immigration. Now, under Trump’s leadership, DHS has introduced the CBP Home App. Instead, illegal aliens are helping to self-report.
Bottomline points out that what Vitiello is saying is that the Biden administration and the institutions he led were actively and deliberately promoting illegal immigration.
“When Joe Biden was Vice President, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayrelkas was the former deputy secretary under the Obama administration,” Vitiello said. “And during the 2014 surge when I was still a civil servant, we made recommendations to the Secretary Homeland Security Bureau and the Deputy Secretary on how to fix the surge that was happening in 2014.”
“They gave recommendations, myself, Tom Homan, others – they took those recommendations and introduced them to reduce the number of people who have encountered illegally across borders,” added Vitiero. “These steps worked and we got better results. Other things have happened since then, but they knew how to fix it. Alejandro Mayorkas saw what happened under the Trump administration, took over the secretary and destroyed everything he had been working for the past four years.
