Jean-Pierre claimed in a Dec. 6 press conference that 64% of Americans support President Joe Biden pardoning his son Hunter for crimes against the United States.
“And I'll actually add, I think it's important to note here, that since you're asking me these questions, it's an important question to ask. There was a poll. , us government [YouGov] I heard that a poll came out and some of you reported on it. And he said 64 percent of Americans, 64 percent of the American public, approve of the pardon. So we understand where the American people stand on this matter. Of course, this is just one poll, but it does provide a bit of insight. 64 percent is nothing to sneeze at,'' Jean-Pierre said, according to a transcript of the press conference.
This is incorrect. YouGov poll referred to It found that 17% of Americans “strongly support” pardons, and an additional 17% said they “somewhat approve” of the president's actions. That means 34% of Americans approved instead of 64%.
