The video caption is incorrect. In fact, it shows people helping people evacuate their homes before a fire breaks out.

Fact check:

At least 24 people have been killed in fires that have spread across Los Angeles over the past week, news agencies have announced. Associated Press. The fire destroyed more than 12,000 structures, and AccuWeather estimated damage and economic losses at about $250 billion to $275 billion, the newspaper reported.

X Video shows people looting amidst devastation. The video shows someone carrying a large bag while a fire burns in the background. The footage is then sent to someone's front door and shows people carrying the TV away together.

“Oh, look, Kamala Harris voters are looting the homes of California fire victims!” the caption reads. “An inhuman monster!”

However, this video has an incorrect caption. Los Angeles-based news station KTLA 5 interviewed the homeowner. This homeowner is seen at timestamp 4:46:05 YouTube video. The woman said her friends helped her evacuate before the fire spread.

The front exterior of the house and its number 161 are the same in both videos. Check Your Fact was unable to independently verify the origin of the video posted on X. (Related: No, the Hollywood sign is not currently on fire)
