Fani Willis calls herself ‘the face of the feminist movement,’ brags about her unrepentance — then sends Trump a message

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis hasn’t learned her lesson.

Embarrassing scenes that explore how Willis’ personal decisions influenced her election interference lawsuit resulted in Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee publicly reprimanding her. Willis hasn’t finished speaking about the indictment of former President Donald Trump and his co-defendants. .

Speaking at an Easter event in Atlanta on Saturday, Willis said the hearing over the possible disqualification would not slow down the case.

“While the case was progressing, we were writing corresponding briefs and proceeding with the case in the manner necessary. I do not feel that we are falling behind in any way.” she told CNN.

“I do think there are efforts to slow this train down,” she continued. “But the train is coming.”

Willis described these hearings as “noise” and “distraction.” But those hearings were by no means a “distraction.”

Rather, they were critical to ensuring that the rights of defendants in election interference cases were not violated by overzealous prosecutors. In fact, Judge McAfee never exonerated Willis.

Despite this, Willis boasted to CNN that he did “nothing illegal,” which is a low bar for a powerful prosecutor.

“I don’t feel like I need to restore my reputation. For the record, I’m not ashamed of anything I’ve done,” she told CNN. Ta. “I think my biggest sin was having an affair with a man, but I’m not ashamed of that at all. And I know I didn’t do anything illegal.”

Also during the interview, Willis described herself as the “face of the feminist movement” and the “face of women.”

“Actually, I feel more loved. I get a lot of support from women, which surprised me. I never thought I would be the face of women, women of all nationalities. I didn’t,” she said.

Willis later added, “Let me just say this: African-American women in particular will say, ‘We’re so proud. You’re a great representative of us.'” “I’d be lying if I said it was just African American women. I had white women, Asian women, Indian women. I never thought of myself as the face of the feminist movement, but… Somehow I ended up becoming the face of the feminist movement.”

“I feel like women feel like being a professional makes them feel special. And women are proud to see someone who is strong and trying to do the right job, but all There are definitely flaws, just as there are flaws in humans. My father has a saying: “Only one perfect man walked the earth, and they crucified him.” she continued. “I’m not a perfect person, but I’m a hard-working person who loves the community I serve and who understands that this seat is not mine, it’s the people’s. As long as I’m here, I’m going to do my job in an honorable way.”

Seeing herself that way, one might wonder how her head made it through the courtroom doors.
