Father of missing California boy Emmanuel Haro has troubling criminal record

New Developments in the Disappearance of a Southern California Infant

Recently, new and surprising information has emerged regarding the father of a seven-month-old boy from Southern California, who has gone missing under troubling circumstances. The child’s father, Jake Halo, is currently on probation after serving time for a conviction in 2023. Additionally, he now faces new charges related to weapon possession, as disclosed in court documents.

The missing infant, Emmanuel, was last seen last Thursday. His mother, Rebecca, reported to the police that an unidentified man attacked her while she was changing Emmanuel’s diaper in a parking lot in Yucaipa, San Bernardino County, ultimately taking the child.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, which immediately initiated a search using police dogs and helicopters, revealed on Saturday that Rebecca had ceased cooperating with authorities after inconsistencies arose in her account of events. This prompted officials to issue a statement suggesting that “foul play cannot be ruled out” regarding Emmanuel’s disappearance.

Interestingly, as the investigation progressed, details of Jake Halo’s criminal background came to light. He had served six months in prison due to charges of child cruelty stemming from an incident in Hemet, California, back in October 2018. While he has at least two children, it remains unclear who the victim of that previous case was.

Currently, Jake remains on probation for his earlier felony conviction. He has a hearing scheduled next month to determine if his new weapons charges will result in further consequences.

In June of last year, Halo was arrested on charges related to firearm possession as a convicted felon and drug user, to which he pled guilty.

Authorities conducted a search of the couple’s home in Cabazon over the weekend, deploying cadaver dogs and removing their two-year-old child from the premises. The boy’s grandmother expressed her belief in the couple’s innocence, although Rebecca was asked to take a lie detector test, while Jake declined, citing the absence of legal representation.

The situation has also drawn attention from charity organizations; the Uvalde Foundation for Kids initiated a search effort and offered a $5,000 reward for information regarding Emmanuel’s safe return. However, they retracted their assistance and canceled the reward shortly after, citing concerns over the family’s sudden lack of communication with law enforcement.

In the midst of all this, officials are actively searching for Emmanuel, who is described as having brown hair, brown eyes, weighing about 21 pounds, and measuring roughly 24 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black Nike onesie.

Anyone with information about Emmanuel’s whereabouts is strongly encouraged to contact the San Bernardino Sheriff’s dispatch at 909-387-8313.

As the situation develops, the sheriff’s department has indicated that some details remain undisclosed, as they are part of an ongoing investigation.

Attempts to reach Jake Halo for comments have not received any response.
