The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), led by President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, has created a “Responding to Rumors” webpage and says the agency is providing disaster relief to newly released migrants from the U.S.-Mexico border. He insisted that he did not misappropriate the money.
As Americans in Appalachia struggle with the effects of Hurricane Helen, FEMA is using its resources to launch a Hurricane Rumor Response. web page The website claims that officials debunk various claims.
Among the rumors that FEMA officials are responding to are rumors that have caught the attention of ordinary Americans as well as elected officials. That means federal agencies are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars assisting migrants arriving at the country's southern border.
“Rumor: FEMA disaster response funds have been diverted to support international efforts and border-related issues,” the webpage reads, followed by the following:
Fact: This is false. No funds will be diverted to disaster response needs. FEMA's disaster response operations and individual assistance are funded through the Disaster Relief Fund, a fund dedicated to disaster operations. Disaster Relief Fund funds are not diverted to other non-disaster-related efforts.

But what FEMA officials don't address on the webpage is that since Biden and Harris took office, nearly $700 million in FEMA funds have been diverted to migrants who crossed the border and were then released into the American interior. The fact is that it is being used to support
This week, a group of Senate Republicans sent a letter to Biden and Harris warning that FEMA's ballooning spending on migrants arriving at the border threatens its disaster relief mission.
“We believe that your administration's reliance on FEMA to address the ongoing border crisis under Vice President Harris as 'border czar' will improve FEMA's preparedness for disaster relief, including hurricane response. We are concerned that this is causing a decline,” the senators wrote.
Similarly, Rep. Mark Green (R-Tenn.), chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which implored Congress for additional FEMA funds in the wake of Hurricane Helen, He blamed Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
“Secretary Mayorkas and his White House bosses have great nerve in asking for more funding after they fought for approximately $650 million for shelter and services programs this year alone,” Greene said in a statement. “There is,” he said.
“Under Biden and Harris' leadership, our tax dollars are being used to encourage illegal immigration while many Americans are left to suffer from natural disasters,” he said.
Hurricane Helen's death toll is approximately 230 people. As of this weekend, more 200,000 North Carolina residents were still without power.
