Fetterman asserts that Israel should have aimed at Iran’s supreme leader: ‘without a doubt’

Fetterman says Israel should have targeted Iran supreme leader: '100 percent'

Fetterman Supports Targeting Iranian Leader

Senator John Fetterman (D-Pa.) expressed on Tuesday that he believes Israel should have focused on Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

When asked during an interview about sentiments on Fox News, Fetterman responded affirmatively, saying, “Yeah, 100%.” He expressed that targeting Khamenei seems justified to him, noting, “It’s definitely gone – I took him away.”

Fetterman commented on Israel’s military strategies, suggesting they should take out leadership figures similarly to how they address threats from Hezbollah. He remarked, “They’re already doing it in Iranian leadership, so they’re even taking them out and lying in their beds.”

This exchange comes in the wake of a recent conflict that erupted after Israel conducted an unexpected attack on Tehran, which aimed at nuclear and missile sites, resulting in the deaths of several high-ranking officials. Tensions have escalated, particularly in light of the ongoing war in Gaza, prompting Iran to retaliate with airstrikes.

Fetterman has been a staunch supporter of Israel during its confrontations with Hamas and Iran. On social media, he emphasized that it takes time to deal with “Iran’s evil regime and its nuclear weapons program,” even sharing images of the Israeli flag.

On Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu mentioned the possibility of targeting Khamenei shortly after news surfaced regarding former President Trump’s interest in a similar course of action.

Netanyahu reiterated on Tuesday that while Khamenei could be an “easy target,” there are currently no immediate plans for such an action.

In a statement, Trump commented on Khamenei’s whereabouts, saying, “We know exactly where the so-called ‘Super Leader’ is hiding. He’s an easy target, but he’s safe there. At least for now, I won’t take him out.”

The former president also indicated that the U.S. has not engaged in the conflict yet, stating, “We’re not involved in it. We could be involved, but we’re not involved at this time.”

Trump mentioned that he would be open to mediation in the Iran-Israel crisis by Russian President Vladimir Putin, having had conversations about it previously.

Despite discussions at the recent G7 summit, Trump seemed dismissive about the idea of peace negotiations, indicating that his administration is looking for solutions beyond a mere ceasefire.
