Naomi Watts has been spotted on the set of Ryan Murphy’s “American Love Story,” portraying Jacqueline Kennedy with impressive accuracy.
In Central Park, Watts was filmed alongside Paul Kelly, who takes on the role of John F. Kennedy Jr. in the series.
The iconic former First Lady is often remembered for her chic style, notably her oversized sunglasses.
As she stepped into the character’s shoes, the 56-year-old actress was nearly unrecognizable, having traded her signature blonde bob for Jackie’s dark brown locks.
Completing her look, she donned Jackie’s oversized sunglasses, a fashionable sun hat, a gold medallion necklace, and tailored black trousers with elegant buttons.
In contrast, Kelly sported a laid-back outfit consisting of a baseball cap, khakis, and a crisp white shirt.
Grace Gummer, who plays Jackie’s daughter Caroline, was seen interacting with child actors portraying Caroline’s daughters, Rose and Tatiana.
Alongside them, Sarah Pigeon will portray Carolyn Bessett Kennedy, focusing on a young couple amidst this narrative, although she wasn’t part of the scene being filmed.
There’s been some backlash regarding the depiction of Carolyn, particularly concerning the authenticity of her wardrobe and her hair. Some fans felt the first images didn’t capture her iconic style, leading to critical remarks from fashion figures.
Even celebrity stylist Erica Cloud expressed dissatisfaction, saying that Carolyn’s wardrobe should reflect her status as a fashion icon, while others echoed the sentiment about the need for accuracy.
However, Ryan Murphy has reassured fans that the initial images are just a rough draft, promising that a team of fashion experts is behind the scenes to refine the final looks.
Anticipation is building for a more authentic representation of the fashion associated with the American royal family, which is set to air on Valentine’s Day, 2026.
