United Airlines Flight Returns to Honolulu Due to Security Concerns

On Wednesday morning, a United Airlines flight traveling from Honolulu to Los Angeles made an unexpected return to Hawaii.

The flight, designated as Flight 1169, departed Daniel K. Inouye International Airport shortly after 9:40 PM on Tuesday, en route to Los Angeles International Airport.

A spokesperson for United Airlines indicated that the Boeing 777 had to return due to “potential security concerns.” They mentioned that law enforcement agencies greeted the aircraft upon its return and performed security sweeps.

The flight safely landed back in Honolulu around 1:35 AM.

While law enforcement conducted checks on the plane, the airline did not specify what, if anything, was discovered during the inspection.

The local FBI office in Honolulu had not provided immediate information about any arrests related to the incident.

Meanwhile, Honolulu Police have involved the FBI regarding the ongoing investigation.

A United Airlines representative stated, “We are rebooking customers on another flight to Los Angeles, departing late tonight.” The flight had 339 passengers along with 10 crew members on board.
