Florida Man Takes Water Gun Fight Too Seriously

A Florida man reacted harshly during what started as a harmless water gun fight. He pulled a handgun on a group of teens who mistakenly doused his car with water, thinking it was a friend’s vehicle.

On the night of July 1, a 15-year-old was biking around Port St. Lucie with friends when he aimed an Orbees blaster at 49-year-old Gregory Allen Davis’s car.

According to the Port St. Lucie Police Department, Davis called 911 claiming, “Police, please, we’re being shot,” with his fiancée suggesting at the time that the shots were from a BB gun.

Feeling threatened, Davis started tailgating the teens and yelled at them to “stop now!” Multiple recordings from the 911 call captured the tension.

Things escalated when Davis reportedly pointed a 9mm handgun at the teens, instructing them to “get the suspect out of the car,” as noted by police and onlookers.

When officers arrived, they quickly managed to de-escalate the situation, confiscating Davis’s gun and placing him under arrest.

An astonished officer was heard in body camera footage questioning Davis, “Why would you point a gun at kids?”

Police later concluded that the young boys had believed they were playing a prank on a friend, not targeting Davis’s vehicle. They clarified that the weapon they used was just a modified water gun, not a BB gun at all.

Davis now faces charges for aggravated assault and false imprisonment related to the incident. The teen who shot the water gun was charged with throwing a missile at an occupied vehicle.

As of now, Davis has not provided any public comment, and there has been no response from his attorney to media inquiries.
