The Florida Republican Party is thriving in the post-COVID era, boasting that the state has 1 million more registered voters than the Democratic Party.

There are currently 5.33 million registered Republican voters in Florida and 4.33 million registered Democratic voters.
“Our success is more than just numbers,” said Florida Republican Party Chairman Evan Power, “it’s about our vision to make Florida a beacon of freedom for all of our counties.”
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) took to social media platforms to highlight the electorate’s lead.
“Six years ago, registered Democrats outnumbered registered Republicans by about 300,000. And never in the history of Florida have registered Republicans outnumbered Democrats. Today, Republicans outnumber Democrats by 1 million, a major shift that few could have imagined (and that defies many predictions that Florida would become a blue state),” DeSantis wrote on X. “Leadership matters – bold colors, not pale pastels.

Previously perceived as a “swing state,” Florida began to change during COVID-19 as DeSantis emerged as a strong leader in opposition to federal lockdown policies and illogical COVID-19 policies such as maintaining six feet of distance that are not supported by science.
In testimony before the House Oversight Committee, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, acknowledged that there was no scientific evidence to support the “six-foot social distancing rule” that was in place during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The state currently has a Republican governor and two Republican senators and two Republican representatives in 20 of its 28 districts.
