In 1980, a former beauty queen who was abandoned at an airport as a newborn meets her biological mother for the first time in two weeks.

Long before she was crowned Miss Nevada, Elizabeth Hunterton, known only as baby “Jane Doe,” went through the tedious task of tracking down her birth parents on social media to learn more about herself. I have been recording my travels.

As a result of her research, she learns the heartbreaking news that her biological father died 20 years ago, but she is anxious to reconnect with her family and meet her biological mother in a few days.

Hunterton, 44, was found in January 1980 at the gate of a Nevada airport by two pilots at the age of 10 days. told People magazine In 2021.

She was adopted and raised by a loving family in Reno and has lived a full life. She was crowned Miss Nevada in 2004 and still continues to work with the organization as her CEO. But she also says that not knowing anything about her past has sometimes felt like a hole in her life.

“It all started with a connection between 23 and me,” she said in a TikTok video.

She first learned what happened to her biological father after connecting with her biological father’s older brother, an uncle, through a popular ancestry website.

She said she called Mr. Hunton and said, “Dear niece, this is something you hear all the time in movies, but I never thought it would be shown in a theater near you.” agreed.

But one of her biggest fears was realized when she realized that her uncle had been talking about her father in the past tense, calling him a “wonderful man.” He died in 2004 without knowing he had children – something he always wanted.

“My birth mother never told my biological father about me,” Hunterdon said.

“When he passed away, he became one of my guardian angels,” she said. “I’m just my biological father’s daughter. We look alike, we talk alike, and when I met my biological uncle for the first time, he just kept staring at me.”

It only took a few days to find out about her biological father. Tracing her biological mother was a more difficult task.

Mr. Hunterton had almost given up on his mother’s death, but then he heard from a cousin who had given him her mother’s contact information. She decided to send her two-and-a-half page handwritten note, wishing her the best.

She was born in a California hospital to a black father and Japanese mother who met at Fort Ord military base.

She learned that it wasn’t her mother’s fault that she was abandoned.

“When I got the email from her, she shared that she couldn’t take care of me because she believed I deserved it,” Hunterton told People magazine. Ta. “So she handed me over to her roommate who was supposed to take me to her adoption agency. When I was told that her birth mother had actually left me at the airport, she I was quite shocked.”

She was also overjoyed when her mother learned that her first name was not “Jane Doe,” but “Elizabeth,” which was chosen by her adoptive parents.

Hunterdon’s mother also revealed that she was the result of rape, but her biological father’s family insisted they did not believe it.

“I’ve looked deeper into this issue than anyone else has ever done, and after it’s all said and done, I sit there with the question, ‘Am I a product of rape?’ The only place my soul finds peace is where I don’t know if I’m at peace,” she said in a TikTok video.
