Former NFL punter Chris Kluwe arrested during council meeting after calling MAGA a ‘Nazi movement’

Former Viking punter Chris Kruwe was not shy in his career when it came to talking about social issues. Kruwe was arrested at a Huntington Beach City Council meeting in California on Wednesday after opposing Donald Trump's “Maga” movement before engaging in civil disobedience.

“Unfortunately, it's clear that this council hasn't listened. Instead, I'll take my time to say that Maga has been standing for the past three weeks. Maga has a presence that trans people are It symbolizes trying to erase from. Maga stands for reseparation and racism. Maga stands for censorship and book prohibition. MAGA stands for air traffic control while the plane crashes. Short for firing the officials. Maga symbolizes firing people who oversee our nuclear weapons. Maga also includes cancellations of military veterans and Virginia, including the cancellation of research into veteran suicides. He supports firing veterans who serve them in the state. MAGA represents cutting back on funding for education, including children with disabilities. Maga is extremely corrupt and unmistakable anti-democracy, and most importantly, Maga explicitly It's the Nazi movement. You may have replaced it with a red hat as a Swastika, but that's what it is. I'm now engaging in the outdated American tradition of peaceful civil disobedience.”

Kruwe attended the meeting and challenged the proposal to add plaque outside the Huntington Beach City Library, which explicitly praised the Maga movement. The plaque would have had “magic”, “charming”, “galvanizing”, and adventurous words. It is a clear acronym that evokes Magazine, yet once again wonderful, “has been better built towards the golden age of our country creating America through hope and change.” ”

The comments from the former NFL player were filled with applause and cheers by those present just before he was taken from the building by police.

Kruwe, the second-largest punter in Viking history, has always had a history of speaking out about issues he supports. He claimed he was marginalized by the organization because he was a supporter of same-sex marriage that led to his release by Minnesota in 2014. The lawsuit continued and the Vikings finally settled – We promise to donate money to five LGBTQ groups and reduce stigma on the sports LGBTQ community.

Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, Kruwe said he wanted elected officials to engage in the same form of civil disobedience..

“People need to be aware that what's going on in this administration is really bringing us down a dark path. Now, no one is willing to raise it and do it. So If I want to ask them to do it, I have to be willing to do it too.”

One council member Gracey Van Der Mark characterized Kluwe's protest as “scary” and added that he wanted “five minutes of fame.” In response to his comments about the Magazine, she said it was part of an effort to “reclaim” Huntington Beach from its liberal values.

“The city of Huntington Beach has always been conservative and they tried to change it. We're bringing it back to it. If I want to live in a liberal city with liberal value, I'm Los Angeles. He must have stayed at the hotel.”

Kruwe vowed to continue protesting against the current administration.
