Franklin Graham reveals how God ‘spared’ Trump’s life — then he uses RNC stage to quote scripture, share Christian gospel

Franklin Graham preached the gospel in his speech at the Republican National Convention.

Speaking on the convention’s final night on Thursday, Graham reflected on the assassination attempt on President Donald Trump and shared his belief that Trump’s survival was due to divine intervention.

“Let us join our hearts together and forge one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice.”

“God saved his life,” Graham declared, “and when we go through experiences like that, we’re changed.”

“It will cause us to examine our lives and reevaluate our priorities, and rightly so,” he continued. “When President Trump rose from the podium, he raised his fist vigorously in a show of unwavering commitment to fight for the American people and our country.”

Graham then took to the stage to deliver a core Christian message, quoting: John 3:16.

“I can’t explain why God would allow one life to be saved and another to be taken. I don’t have the answers,” Graham said.

“But one thing I do know is that God loves us and wants us to be with Him in heaven one day, and that is through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ,” he continued. “The Bible says, ‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.'”

Graham then prayed. He asked God to give Trump wisdom. He pleaded for Senator J.D. Vance and his family. And most importantly, he asked God to “join our hearts, to unite us, to make us one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

Faith has become an important factor in the Republican National Committee, especially since the assassination attempt on President Trump.

Not only is it difficult to understand how Trump could have literally turned his head at the perfect time to avoid being killed, but the only tragic death at the Butler, Pennsylvania rally, Cory Comperatore, was a man of strong faith.

Comperatore said he not only imitated Jesus’ self-sacrificing love by protecting his family in his final moments, but was also “a man of deep faith who lived his life in honor of Christ and in service to others.”

“Corey was a faithful member of Cabot Church for many years. His love for Jesus was evident in the way he lived his life. He served his family, his church, his community and his country, and he did it all with a heart of service to the Lord,” Pastor Fehr said in a letter to the congregation shared with The Blaze-News after the tragedy.

“Whether it was participating in small groups, serving on boards or lending his expertise to building projects, he was always helping those around him,” Fehr added. “He was especially inspired by the Book of Romans and always encouraged new Christians to read it first.”

Comperatore’s funeral will be held on Friday.
