‘Free Father Theresa’: Trump supporters and critics sound off on Trump’s guilty verdict

Passersby outside the New York City courtroom where former President Trump was found guilty on all charges on Thursday evening reacted with a range of emotions.

“I’m very disappointed. I was hoping for an acquittal,” a Trump supporter told Fox News Digital outside the courtroom.

“It’s really sad. I wish this lawsuit had never been filed.”

“It’s time for justice to be served,” another man said, embracing the woman next to him who appeared to be celebrating the news that the former president had been convicted of a felony.

Another woman celebrating the verdict outside said the news of Trump’s conviction was “great,” while a woman sitting next to her said it was “great, absolutely fantastic.”

Trump was convicted on Thursday of all 34 counts of first-degree falsification of business records. Each count carries a maximum sentence of four years in prison. In total, Trump faces up to 136 years in prison.

The former president spoke to reporters in a hallway outside the courtroom shortly after the jury delivered its verdict.

“This is a disgrace. This was a rigged trial, a rigged, disgraceful, rigged trial with a conflicting interest judge. A change of venue was not granted,” Trump said. “This district, this area, has a 5-6% approval rating. This was a rigged, disgraceful trial.”

“The real verdict will be given by the American people on November 5th,” Trump said.
