Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor Faces Arrest on His Birthday

In the fall of 2025, King Charles III stripped Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor of his royal titles due to ongoing controversies linked to his ties with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

This week, on his 66th birthday, Mountbatten-Windsor, also known as the former Duke of York, was arrested on suspicion of misconduct related to his association with Epstein. He was released only hours later.

Commentator Glenn Beck expressed disbelief upon hearing the news of the former prince’s arrest, remarking on the lack of accountability for serious crimes. “Remember: No one is actually going to jail for having sex with a child… I think it’s illegal to have sex with an underage child,” he said in a mocking tone.

A recent Reuters survey indicated that 69% of Americans believe the rich and powerful often escape accountability for their actions. Beck pointed out this widespread sentiment, stating, “This is universal, but all we see is people playing politics with it.”

On February 16, the United Nations Committee of Human Rights Experts noted that revelations within the Epstein files could point to “crimes against humanity.” Beck reacted, wondering, “But who, were you having sex with children?”

He noted a troubling trend: Every time new information about Epstein emerges, it brings up “more questions” that often remain unanswered. “They release something and it just opens up even more. It’s not clear. It’s foggy. And it’s happening everywhere,” he remarked, mentioning the long-standing grooming gang scandal in the UK.

Beck isn’t just critical of politicians; he feels that society itself shares some responsibility. “The anger we have about any topic lasts about 72 hours before we move on to the next thing. Have you noticed that?” he said, questioning whether that speaks to a larger societal issue.

He suggested perhaps that we’ve grown “completely accustomed to scandal” or worse, that “nothing is real anymore,” diminishing the gravity of serious issues like child exploitation.

According to Beck, the ongoing discourse around Epstein is primarily fueled by social media, which keeps scandals in the public eye far longer than they would normally last. “There was a time when a whiff of corruption would provoke a reaction,” he said, noting that nowadays, scandals seem to quietly “fade away.”
