Global Christian Relief Urges Believers to Pray and Advocate for Persecuted Christians

Christian Persecution Observatory worldwide christian salvation (GCR) calls on believers in the United States to pray for and advocate for our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ around the world.

“The last 15 years or so have seen an intensification of persecution and repression of Christians,” said David Currie, president and CEO of GCR. christian post. “And we need to wake up to that and do some things.”

Last Sunday, GCR hosted a livestream. International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Churchan event for Christians around the world who are exposed to violence and discrimination because of their faith.

The event included a kit containing short stories about several people who have overcome adversity, including a survivor of the Boko Haram genocide in Nigeria and a defender of the underground church in North Korea. There were also testimonies from persecuted Christians, including one from a woman from Nepal who faced discrimination after leaving Hinduism.

Curry noted that compared to Nigeria, which is considered one of the “worst” places in the world for people of faith, Nepal is less well-known for its persecution among Christians.

“We don't want to see people hurt, but what we really want is to start at the top and say, 'Do you know what's happening to our brothers and sisters around the world?' ,” Curry said.

“Including in Nepal, the pressures they face to do simple things like read the Bible, go to church peacefully, and practice their faith. That is not the norm in Nepal.”

GCRand other advocacy groups such as: open doorpointed out that although Nepal is no longer a Hindu nation, Nepali Christians are still at risk of being attacked by their families and being kicked out of their homes for their faith in Christ. Additionally, the government has suppressed Christians through anti-conversion laws and church closures.

GCR is also working with local partners in the region to distribute audio Bibles written in local languages to Christians in Nepal, as many people in Nepal are illiterate and rely on oral communication. . Last month, approximately 40,000 audio Bibles were sent to Nepal. It was delivered On behalf of the monitoring group.

“Because you have to realize this is a mental battle,” Curry emphasized. “First of all, we have to start with prayer. It's a matter of life and death. So we have to understand that it's more than just politics. That's why we have to pray. Start with that and then do your advocacy.”

“Once people care about this issue and understand that their voices can make a difference, we will start talking about this issue with our representatives, we will get the church to pray about this issue, we will start asking people in the Western world about this issue. I think we can move the needle on the government, on the US, on the nation.'' UK, France, spokesperson for Christians persecuted for their faith. ”
