Trump’s Airstrikes on Iran’s Nuclear Facilities Receive Bipartisan Praise

WASHINGTON – Congressional Republican leaders, along with Democrat Sen. John Fetterman and various lawmakers, expressed their approval shortly after President Trump announced the successful bombing of Iran’s key nuclear sites on Saturday.

“This was the right decision by @potus, as I’ve been saying for a while,” a Pennsylvania Assemblyman posted on X, being one of the first lawmakers to respond to the airstrikes. “Iran is known for sponsoring terrorism worldwide and should not have nuclear capabilities. I’m grateful and salute our military, the best in the world.”

Trump shared his update before 8 PM, indicating that the U.S. had executed a “full payload bomb” drop on the Fordow facility along with the Natanz and Esfahan uranium enrichment sites.

“All planes are currently out of Iran’s airspace,” Trump noted in a post at 7:50 PM. “They are all on their way home.”

“Congratulations to our incredible American warriors. There’s no other army that could pull this off. Now is the time for peace! Thank you for focusing on this issue,” he added.

Fetterman’s sentiments were echoed by other prominent figures on Capitol Hill, including House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.).

“These military operations in Iran should remind both enemies and allies that President Trump stands by his word,” Johnson stated. “The president offered Iranian leaders multiple opportunities to sign contracts, yet they turned down the nuclear disarmament agreement.”

“Trump has consistently made it clear that a nuclear-armed Iran is unacceptable. This stance is now backed by strength and precision,” he continued. “The actions taken are against the world’s largest sponsor of national terrorism, who chant ‘death to America,’ and they must be prevented from obtaining such dangerous weapons.”

“This is America’s priority. God bless our brave men and women in uniform, our most formidable fighting force, and may they return safely,” he concluded.

Senate majority leader John Tune (R-SD) confirmed that Iran, under supreme leader Ali Khamenei, had “shut down all diplomatic paths to peace” before Trump’s decision to act.

“The Iranian regime, which promotes ‘death to America’ and has vowed to destroy Israel, has dismissed every chance for dialogue,” Tune remarked.

“We must halt their misguided quest for nuclear weapons. I will act tonight to help ensure that nuclear arms are beyond Iran’s reach, and I stand with President Trump, praying for American troops and personnel,” he stated on X.

Rep. Thomas Massey (R-Ky.), who introduced a resolution last week, highlighted Congress’s authority to declare war.

“I’m pleased to see President Trump taking swift actions to obstruct Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons,” Sen. Mike Lawler (R-NY) said in his statement.

“Just a month ago, I was leading a bipartisan delegation in the Middle East. Our allies agree that Iran cannot possess nuclear arms. I fully support Israel’s actions and the deployment of U.S. aviation assets,” Lawler added.
