An unsettling diary of disinformation and dangerous delusions
This claim:
“Inflation is rising.”
– House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Wednesday
We say: Unfortunately, that’s not quite accurate. The seasonally adjusted consumer price index has been lower over each of the three months since President Trump took office compared to any of the last three months of President Biden’s term. In March, it actually dipped by 0.1%. Sadly, it seems that facts haven’t been a concern for House Democrat leaders.
This nickname:
“This is the act of ‘we’re all going to die.’
– Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer
We say: Schumer’s reference to the GOP’s “big and beautiful bill” appears aimed at alarming people. The proposed slowdown in spending growth aims to secure crucial health care resources, not to endanger lives.
As noted, Medicaid expenditures have surged by 60% since 2019, putting a significant strain on the country’s finances. So, a slight curtailing of spending isn’t going to harm anyone; it’s actually a step towards saving resources.
Find the difference:
It’s interesting. Elon Musk made a gesture that, though unintentional, appeared similar to a controversial salute. This sparked anger from certain groups when he was in the limelight, while a similar gesture from Democratic Senator Cory Booker barely registered a response.

Fix: The following posts have been deleted because the initial version of that article did not meet the fairness criteria: Background: An early version of Sunday’s article said Israeli forces killed more than 30 people near a US aid site in Gaza. – Washington Post.
We say: It’s perplexing how the left-leaning press hasn’t consistently addressed the misinformation coming from sources linked to Hamas regarding casualties in Gaza.
Claims that Israeli forces were responsible for notable fatalities were entirely erroneous, and the Washington Post acknowledged the error later.
However, this wasn’t an isolated incident, as other major outlets also contributed to misleading narratives about Israel.
One notable falsehood was the assertion that Israel bombed a hospital in Gaza, resulting in the deaths of hundreds—a narrative designed to vilify the Jewish state. It’s quite irresponsible.
