Hillary Clinton Commends Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton acknowledged President Donald Trump’s 20-point peace initiative for Gaza, describing it as not only a way to ensure Israel’s security but also a means to restore Gaza.
In a recent interview with David Remnick, the editor-in-chief of New Yorker, Remnick noted that the current stance of Israel seems to reject a two-state solution. He expressed doubt that a viable “Palestinian state” would emerge anytime soon, emphasizing that the concept of a two-state solution appears increasingly improbable. He challenged Clinton on this perspective.
Remnick remarked, “I understand that you back a two-state solution, believing it to be crucial for peace… But examining the Israeli position, it’s clear they are not inclined toward this solution right now. Given the complexities surrounding the Palestinian territories, reaching a two-state solution is unlikely in the near future. For most voters, the two-state concept seems to be fading.” He asked Clinton if he was mistaken in this assessment.
Clinton responded cautiously, saying, “Perhaps you’re right or maybe not. But I want to say something positive about Trump: his 20-Point Plan for Gaza can pave the way for Israeli security, the rebuilding of Gaza, and potential Palestinian self-determination. Some dismiss it just because it comes from Trump, but honestly, it’s currently our only option.”
Furthermore, Clinton shared her past experiences in attempting to foster diplomacy with both Israeli and Arab leaders, highlighting her engagement with military and political figures.
“This topic is quite painful,” she admitted. “Many of those involved are seasoned professionals who have endured significant suffering due to long-standing efforts for peace and security, particularly for Israel. Yet, I truly believe that implementing this 20-point plan would require disarming Hamas, which is a crucial step that remains to be taken. If we manage to execute all 20 points, it could lead not only to disarming Hamas but also to reconstruction efforts, possibly even developing some resorts along the coast.”
In September 2025, Trump unveiled his 20-point plan for Gaza, proposing to transform the area into a “deradicalized and terror-free zone” while focusing on redevelopment for the benefit of its residents.
Additionally, Trump’s strategy for economic revitalization in Gaza involves assembling a panel of specialists who previously contributed to creating a modern, successful city in the region.
