Houthi rebels from Iran launch a ballistic missile at Israel’s busiest airport in a frightening escalation.

A missile launched from Yemen on Sunday landed close to Ben Gurion Airport, Israel’s primary international airport. Videos circulating on social media captured a significant plume of smoke rising from the vicinity of the passenger terminal.

Israeli authorities are looking into incidents involving projectiles that struck near the airport.

During the event, a reporter from Reuters at the airport heard sirens and witnessed passengers rushing toward a designated safe area.

Despite the chaos, Israeli ambulance services reported no serious injuries. A man and a woman were transported to a hospital for minor injuries, while two others received on-site treatment related to panic.

At the airport, individuals shared smartphone footage showing a visible plume of black smoke behind parked planes and the terminal; however, Reuters has not independently verified these videos.

Airport officials indicated that the missiles had impacted a road near the parking lot of Terminal 3. Social media shared images illustrating a road strewn with shrapnel.

The Yemeni Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for the missile strikes, asserting that they are acting in solidarity with the Palestinian cause in Gaza.
